FOLEY, SFX, AMBIENT SOUNDSCAPES, VOICE-OVER & COMPOSITION

While I have more experience in foley and sound design, I dabble in various styles of composition (thriller, experimental, orchestral) as well. I cannot showcase all the projects I've worked on due to copyright issues; however, I'll gladly send you a demo if you reach out to me with the details of your scene/story.

Crazy Catfish Lady (2023)

Animator: Evan Ziegler

Sound Design & Mixing: Gevher & Grace Stensland

The classic "Tom and Jerry" cartoon shorts inspire this film, and the animator was looking for similarly cartoonish sound effects that would go well with the musical narrative. I used squeaky toys, metal doors, cheese to chew on, and lots of THUDSMASHBONKSPLAT impact noises.

This animated film has won "Best Animated Film" at Wick Monet International Film Festival (2024), and was in the official selection of "Short Story Fest (2023)", "Latest Visions: Halloween Special (2023)", "Ravenwood Film Festival (2023)", and "Golden Smile International Comedy Film Festival". It was also a nominee at "Contari Film Awards (2024)" and a finalist at "COFFI - CortOglobo Film Festival Italia (2024)".

PIZZA MAN is SpongeBob-style comedy. I did the the sound design and mixing / mastering.

It won the “Audience Favorite Animation” award from The 2nd Annual Duck and Red Octopus Short Funny Stop-Action and Animated Film Festival, “Best Animation” award at "Canada’s Yes! Let’s Make A Movie Film Festival." It was also nominated for “Best Student Film” and “Best North American Film.”

MISSED CONNECTIONS

The brief for the composition I was given for this short stop motion animation was "DIY feel with non-quantised rhythm, girl culture growing up, acoustic". I did the sound design, mostly foley-style, for the footsteps, phone notifications, calling, and cat noises (using my own cat in the mix (: ). I also mixed and equalised the voiceover files provided to me by the filmmaker at RIT (Saige “Boots” Kanik).

Sound Re-Design

I have made a sound re-design for the "battle on the boat" scene in Kubo and the Two Strings for my undergraduate audio & music engineering course. I did the voice-overs for the Monkey and the Evil Sister with a condenser mic and warped my voice for the Evil Sister by playing around with various effects. I also recorded most of the sound effects foley-style (e.g. styrofoam and mouth sounds for the underwater creatures, a pen and a notebook for the chain spin whooshes, leather chair for thuds, and kitchen utensils for the sword-fighting). This was my first ever full-length sound design project.

**The visuals do not belong to me, all the rights for the animation go to Laika Studios. I only did the sound re-design on Pro Tools. The music used is a composition by Dario Marianelli that I spliced.

Re-Composition

Re-imagining the music for the beginning of BgFATLdy

A quick composition assignment for the opening scene of a dark crime comedy. I also did the sound design up until it fades the black on Logic Pro.
